Course Descriptions
Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
This course was developed by the Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council in July 2020 to meet the requirements of Public Act 100-762. This law requires sexual harassment prevention training for all persons in Illinois who hold a professional license issued by the Division of Professional Regulation (DPR) for professions that require CE to renew. The law requires licensees to complete a one-hour CE course in sexual harassment prevention training and is effective for all renewals on or after January 1, 2020. This CE requirement is included in the number of hours already required under the individual Acts and Rules and does not increase the number of hours required to renew a license.
Implicit Bias Training
This training has been developed by IHHC in collaboration with Hinshaw Culberson. Illinois Public Act 102-4 requires certain health care licensees to complete a one-hour continuing education course on implicit bias awareness prior to renewal of their licenses. This training will cover the following topics, required by 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1130.500:
- Explanation of implicit bias; the difference between explicit and implicit biases
- Causes of implicit bias; how they form and operate
- Effects of implicit bias, the harms the cause
- Interrupting and mitigating implicit bias
Dementia Training
The Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Services Act (410 ILCS 406) was passed by the General Assembly and signed into law in 2016. Subsequently, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) adopted rules (77 Ill. Adm. Code Part 973) to implement the law. IHHC and C&V Senior Care Specialists, Inc. developed both the 6-hour initial training and the 3-hour annual training to meet the State requirements.
