Regulatory Update: NEW Alzheimer's and Dementia Training Requirements

Grab your lunch and join the Illinois Homecare & Hospice Council for an overview of the new, mandatory Alzheimer's and related dementia training requirements recently implemented by the Illinois Department of Public Health. All home health agencies, home nursing agencies, home services agencies and hospice programs will be required to: 

  •  have a care plan for all clients/patients with an Alzheimer's disease or related dementias diagnosis implemented in accordance with nationally recognized standards of care;
  • designate an Alzheimer's Services Supervisor with specific qualifications; 
  • provide 6 hours of initial training for new staff; and
  • provide 3 hours of continued annual training for all staff.
